A full-color book on premium paper with many pictures not previously seen in public. Written by Director Emeritus Vicki Stiles, this book has been thirty years in the making.
The book of the city of Shoreline, Washington highlights Native land stewardship, early logging, and development driven by roads, rail, and the interurban transportation system. Post-WWII growth spurred suburban expansion, giving rise to 14 recognized neighborhoods, each one documented here with several pages and historic photographs. The city incorporated in 1995, establishing local governance, parks, and community institutions, preserving its heritage amid ongoing development.
